TYY MAKES STATEMENT ON THE ORGANISATION STRATEGY DRAFT OF FINNISH
STUDENT SPORTS FEDERATION (OLL)

As requested, TYY made a statement on the organisation strategy draft of
the Finnish Student Sports Federation (OLL)

In its statement, TYY needs something more concrete for its strategy and
hopes that the strategy will show how OLL intends to develop itself and
how it will fulfill its goal as an organisation that will look after the
interests of affairs in health and fitness for higher education
students. TYY believes that, instead of all-star sports, a more genuine
aim to improve students' well-being and influence fitness possibilities
of students and young adults must be seen in the strategy.

The entire statement can be read at http://tyy.fi/node/468 (in Finnish only)

ACCOUNT ON TYY LIBRARY COMPLETED

The Student Union Council appointed a committee to work on the account
of the TYY Library and come up with different options for development.

The committee presented its completed report to the new and old Student
Union Council members at the evening meeting last week on at Turku
School of Economics. Student Union Council group representatives went
though the proposal and presented additional questions top the committee
concerning the account.

Union Council on Wednesday, 23 September. Each Student Union Council
group will take the floor, each representative speaking on behalf of the
group about the account. The new Student Union Council will take notes
on the report at its own meeting on Tuesday, 29 September and will hear
the opinions of each group about what, on the basis of the report, will
be done and in which direction the preparation will be taken.

The new Student Union Council will have representatives speaking on
behalf of each group, after which a decision proposal or several
decisions alternatives will be made on the future of the TYY Library in
January or February.

TYY SEARCHES FOR REPRESENTATIVES FOR FSHS DELEGATION 2010-2011

Finnish Student Health Services (FSHS) was founded by The National Union
of University Students in Finland in 1954. It offers its health services
to approximately 135,000 university students. According to the
Foundations Act, the board has the highest decision-making duties and
responsibilities of the operation of FSHS. In addition to the board, a
delegation is selected for FSHS to which 68 members belong and which
convenes a few times a year. According to the regulations of Finnish
Student Health Services, SYL selects three members for the board and 10
members for the delegation. In addition to this, each student union has
one of its own representatives in the delegation.

SYL has requested that the student unions give their proposals of
delegation members. Members must have an interest in student health care
and be ready to commit to the task for the whole 2010-2011 term. In
addition, members should have Finnish-language skills. The TYY Executive
Board will decide on the delegation members to be presented to SYL on 2
October.

Free-form applications must be submitted to the TYY Service Desk
(Rehtorinpellonkatu 4 A, 20500 Turku or tyy-kanslia@utu.fi) no later
