Riina Lumme will start as a substitute for the secretary general of TYY from 12 December 2022. TYY secretary general Petra Peltonen will be on parental leave.
Lumme has served as a member of the board of the University of Turku student union in 2015 and as chairperson in 2016. Lumme has also served as chairperson of the National Union of University Students in Finland in 2017.
"As a former chairperson of the board and a member of the university's board, the operating environment is familiar, but the task of secretary general still offer completely new challenges. It feels good to come back to the office!" Lumme says.
Lumme has gained work experience as a group assistant of The Greens parliamentary group, the administrative secretary of The Greens parliamentary group, the financial secretary of the European Forum in Turku, and as an expert on youth participation in Nuva ry.
"I am particularly interested in leadership and organizational development. I believe that the position of secretary general also offers challenges and opportunities for development," Lumme says.
