TYY's Council Non-Meeting in Pori

TYY's Representative Council gathered again, this time in the Pori campus! We travelled through Rauma towards the beautiful Pori to get to know local organizations.

As we opened the meeting we noted that it was called to order late due to technical problems causing possible decisions to be questionable. Therefore, we decided to hold an unofficial evening school where we spent 4 hours having preliminary debates about documents that can be now returned for the TYY Board's preparation.

From the Agenda we talked about future years' Plan of Action, Economic plan and Equality Programme. Once again, the council will groups had a thorough discussion about the documents' contents and meaning. The decision about supporting the people of Palestine has been deferred to the next meeting.

The Representative Council is TYY's highest decision-making body, which is elected every two years. Among other things, the Representative Council decides on TYY's political policies and finances and approves the student union's action plan and other documents guiding the activities. The Representative Council meetings are open to members and can also be followed via a stream on TYY's YouTube channel. The next meeting time will be announced soon.
