9.11. Porthan's Parade and TYY's 102nd Annual Ball

In 2024, TYY's founding day and annuall ball are celebrated during the same Saturday

9 November is the anniversary of The Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY). Porthan Day celebration includes a parade, choir singing and wreath laying at the Porthan Statue. We wish great attendance in this event that has been a tradition since the beginning of TYY in 1922!

The parade starts this year at 13.00 from Student House A. The parade makes a stop at H.G. Porthan’s grave in Tuomiokirkontori on the way to the Porthan statue in the Old Great Square.

Welcome to the 102nd Annual Ball of the Student Union of the University of Turku on 09.11.2024 at Turun VPK:n talo!

The celebration begins with a cocktail event and greetings at the Turun VPK:n talo at 16.00. The dinner is served in the main hall at 18.00. Dances will begin after the dinner at the same venue. The after party will also be held at the same venue. The Herring Breakfast is served the next morning from 10.30 onwards at the TYY Sauna.
