New traffic lights for cyclists and a new pedestrian crossing across Hämeentie will make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to move near the University and TYKS hospital.
At the intersection of Rehtorinpellonkatu and Hämeentie near the University, the city has added a new pedestrian crossing across Hämeentie and one-way crossing points for cyclists. With the changes, moving between Rehtorinpellonkatu and Hämeenkatu will become easier – particularly for pedestrians and cyclists.
Cyclists can cross Hämeentie at one-way crossing points, which feature new traffic lights specifically for bicycles. The new crosswalk, for its part, is for pedestrian use only and features standard pedestrian signals.
The City of Turku announced the changes yesterday.
