TYY Representative Council's November Meeting

TYY's Council gathered for their last meeting of the year on the 27th of November in Turku Hall. As the finishing meeting of the year the Agenda was long and full of important matters. 👇

Elisa Hyvärinen was elected as the Council Chair and Maisa Pikkarainen as Vice Chair. The Board's chair will be Josefina Tuomala and the members Aada Aho, Emil Jacobsson, Hannu Kallio, Victoria Luovikari, Iiro Myllymäki, Roosa Partanen and Anton Pohjola.

In addition, the council elected the Tylkkäri Student magazine's steering group and a ten member activity support committee. Jimi Salonen continues as Tylkkäri's steering group's chair. Congratulations to all elected! 💙

On the document side we confirmed next year's Plan of Action and Target Program, financial plan and medium-term economic plan. The approved documents will be published on TYY's website in the near future.

💰 The 2025-2026 academic year's membership fee was lowered on Group SD's proposal by one euro to 54 euros.

💰 Turku's Student Magazine Tylkkäri's funding was cut by Group Lex's proposal by 20 000 which is about a third of the whole budget for the magazine.

💰 Organization's activity grants were raised by proposal of Soihdunkantajat. The Council also approved a motion from TSE-list aiming to balance TYY's activity supports to better reflect the amount of members between the campus cities' organizations.

The Equality Program was returned to the new Board for preparing. The Council will approve the Program next year.

Due to the year coming to an end the council members were awarded with Union ribbon,s and we noted the Honor Committee's recognitions from October. The Board's and Council's outgoing chairs Astin and Holopainen held farewell speeches at the end of the meeting. We thank the outgoing actors for the past years!
