Welcome to University of Turku Well-being Week on April 7–11, 2025!

Monday, April 7
 

Well-being Fair from 11am to 1pm, outside on University Hill
The Student Union TYY, Study in Turku, and On My Mind activities invite you to the Well-being Fair on Monday, April 7, from 11am to 1pm on University Hill. The fair offers a chance to learn about well-being services at the university and in the Turku region. Participants include Aisti ry, Ohjaamo, Oma Koutsi, YTHS, the Red Cross, Kulttuuripaja Casa, FinFami, university chaplains, Eka askel, the library, and career services (rekry). In case of rain, the fair will be held inside the Main Building and Feeniks Library lobbies.

This spring, occupational safety representatives will also join the fair! Stop by their stand to ask about workplace safety and get to know the university's safety representatives. By answering a short survey, you can also win great prizes!

Movie ticket raffle at the Well-being Fair: Pick up a fair pass from the TYY stand. Visit at least nine stands and collect stickers. Return your completed pass to the TYY stand to enter the raffle. Three lucky winners will receive two movie tickets each. The raffle will take place at the end of the fair.

Feeniks Library activities during the Well-being Fair (11am–1pm):
Come and browse your favorite children's books in the library's lobby! We have compiled a selection of our customers' and staff's favorite children's books from our cultural materials collection. 

Change the world! exhibition on the 3rd floor: a discussion guide will be present. If you wish, you can talk to the guide about the ideas the exhibition has raised and find out more about the exhibition. 

Grab some cotton candy from the On My Mind and explore the fair!​
 

Tuesday, April 8

Well-being Mini Breaks (15min) across the Turku Campus
The Student Union TYY and the On My Mind activity have invited student organizations to organize engaging and community-driven Well-being Quarters across the Turku campus between 10 AM and 4 PM. During a Well-being Quarter, you can, for example, play games, paint, or dance for fifteen minutes!
We will publish a map with the locations and exact times of the Well-being Quarters on Monday, March 31.
Everyone is welcome to join!​
 

Board Game Night at Teutori Library from 5pm to 8pm
Join us for an evening of board games, puzzles, and even an escape room experience at Teutori Library! Whether you come alone or with friends, there will be plenty of game companions. Free tea and coffee will be available. The event is substance-free and open to all university students. Organized by the University Library in collaboration with In Vitro Aboensis IVA ry and Technica ry.
 

Wednesday, April 9

Well-being Day at Rauma Campus (11:00–13:00) in Torni Lobby
Meet with representatives from YTHS, the church, TYY, CampusMowe, On My Mind support students, and OpintoVarttu's contact person. 

YTHS offers short discussion sessions for those interested, while the church organizes Godfulness relaxation exercises. CampusMowe provides small physical activities, TYY's stand invites participants to complete a puzzle together, and at the On My Mind stand, recovery is explored through the DRAMMA model. See you at Torni!

 

Thursday. April 10

Forest Excursion to Kuusisto Castle Ruins from 10am to 2.30pm (for students & doctoral researchers)
Join Studen Union TYY, Study in Turku, and On My Mind for a relaxing nature trip! 

We will begin the trip by heading together to the Kappelinmäki nature trail for a sensory walk guided by TYY and Mielen päällä peer students. The goal of the sensory walk is to relax and enjoy nature through various activities. At the end of the walk, we will have a picnic by the sea. After that, we will take part in a 30-minute guided tour on the history of the Bishop's Castle ruins. We will conclude the trip with a visit to the art manor's garden exhibition.​

The trip is for students and doctoral researchers, with a maximum of 43 participants. Unfortunately, the excursion is not fully accessible. Registered participants will receive detailed instructions via email closer to the date.

Friday, April 11

Elephant Ball Tournament from 9am to 4pm (for students, doctoral researchers & staff)
Elephant Ball is a fun twist on football, played with a large gym ball. Gather a team of at least five players, ensuring a mix of male and female players on the field.

  • Where: The sand field behind Educarium
  • Game duration: 10–20 min (depending on the number of teams)

The tournament is open to all students, doctoral researchers and staff members.
