The International Students of Turku Universities is a registered non-profit organisation of international bachelor’s, master's and PhD students studying at all universities in Turku (University of Turku, Åbo Akademi and Turku University of Applied Sciences). ISTU is also open for exchange and Finnish students.

ISTU was founded in 2008 in order to create a network for international students and give them the opportunity to meet each other. It also promotes the social and cultural integration of the community in the Finnish society. ISTU has been greatly growing since its foundation, establishing cooperation with several other student organisations in and out of Turku in order to best represent the interest of ISTU members.

ISTU promotes the integration of international degree students into the new academic, social and cultural environment and helps overcoming the challenges they might face in a foreign country. We provide forums to meet and discuss issues of interest together. We also offer a wide variety of interesting social and cultural activities that make university life more fun and exciting.

ISTU is interested in people with new ideas who would like to help organising and enrich the international students’ community in Turku. We welcome everyone, come and take part!
